USS Enterprise CVN-80 Ceremonial Keel Laying

defenseuptodate.com – USS Enterprise has a long history as a US aircraft carrier. The United States once had several aircraft carriers with the name USS Enterprise, such as the famous CV-6 during the Second World War. Then USS Enterprise (CVN-65) which is the US Navy’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier known as “Big E.”
Now, for a long time, the USS Enterprise will be resumed with the arrival of the newest US Navy aircraft carrier, the CVN-80. Huntington Ingalls Industries carried out the construction work for this aircraft carrier, which was recently carried out by Ceremonial Keel Laying by Katie Ledecky as Ship Sponsor at Newport News Shipbuilding on 27 August 2022.
Ledecky and Simone Biles as sponsors are US Olympic gold medalists who took part in making the US Navy’s third aircraft carrier in the Ford class.
The name Enterprise is now a legacy for US aircraft carriers as Shipbuilder Chis Bennet explained in 2022.
